Josh Hamilton Story

I just finished watching the Home Run Derby on ESPN. Justin Morneau of the Minnesota Twins ended up winning the crown. Congratulations Justin, but the story of the night was Josh Hamilton. Not for all the home runs he hit coming in 2nd to Justin.  The story goes much deeper than a home run derby or a baseball game.

Two years ago Josh Hamilton was not even in baseball. The former number one pick in the draft had become addicted to drugs. He went through almost all of his 4 million dollar signing bonus. Josh was suspended from the major leagues and his baseball career appeared over. More importantly it appeared his life might be over. God had other plans for Josh. After giving his life to Christ and turning his back on his drug addiction, Josh was able to get back into baseball. The Cincinnati Reds signed him and he had a great year. This season after being traded to the Texas Rangers, Josh is having a year to remember. More importantly Josh is sharing his story  and how his life has been changed by Jesus Christ.

Continue to keep Josh in your prayers. He fights his past addiction everyday and  many who would love to see this christian man fall back into his old ways. Thanks Josh Hamilton for being a great example to all.
